On Saturday I will have been living in my apartment for a week. I'm on the 4th floor of a busy
apartment complex, right across the street from my school. It has one bedroom and an office, and what
seems to be a spacious kitchen for Korean standards. Here’s a quick tour of the place.
Tonight, I finally got the internet connected in my apartment. It sounds so shallow to actually say this, but I really missed the convenience of being able to communicate with people whenever I needed to. I think it was more frustrating simply because Korea is supposedly the most connected country in the world, and I was not connected in Korea. Anyway, all is good now and i'm thankful that I have the resources to be connected to you all.
Tomorrow I will take some pictures at school and around the city to give you a better idea of where I'm at. And the mountains! On Sunday morning I'm going to hike up Mt. Taebaek. Apparently it's a pretty famous mountain in Korea, but I have no idea why. Maybe there will be a sign that I can't read on the trail!
I promise more insightful, interesting blogs in the future. Topics may include why Korea has the best ice cream treats on the planet, drinking/smoking habits of Korean teachers, or the abundance of red chili peppers growing outside my apartment window. Stay tuned for more frequent posts!
Your apartment is SO nice by Korean standards! Your bathroom is even bigger than the one I had my first year in Korea. I hope you are enjoying Taebaek and I can't wait to hear all about your teaching experiences!
